The history of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, Economics and Innovative Technologies dates back to 1940 when Drohobych Teachers’ Training (later, in 1952, pedagogical) Institute was founded on the premises of the former Gymnasium – the first and only education institution in the then Drohobych Oblast The Physics and Mathematics faculty was among the other three faculties in the structure of the newly created institute.
The faculty pays primary attention to educational work with students and the organization of their cultural leisure.
Within the framework of cooperation with volunteer and public organizations, the “Karitas” charitable foundation, the students are active in a humanitarian mission: they collect funds for the treatment of soldiers, support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, help orphans, low-income families, disabled children, people with serious illnesses and others.

A large number of scientific events are held at the Faculty, some of which have already become traditional:
The development of international activities is one of the key directions of the faculty’s work.
Faculty teachers undergo internships and cooperate with the following European universities: VIVES University of Applied Sciences (Belgium), ISMA University (Latvia), Riga Technical University (Latvia), Cologne University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Marie Curie-Skadovska University in Lublin (Poland), Rzeszów University (Poland), Pedagogical University named after Commission of National Education in Krakow (Poland), International Institute in Zittau (Germany), Jan Dlugosz University of Humanities and Natural Sciences in Częstochowa (Poland), Higher School of Management and Entrepreneurship in Walbrzych (Poland), Higher School of Hotel Business and Tourism in Lesk (Poland), Polytechnic Institute of the State Higher Vocational School in Krosno (Poland), Subcarpathian Higher School named after blessed priest Władysław Findysz in Jaslo (Poland), Higher School of Finance and Management in Warsaw (Poland).
Students at the faculty have the opportunity to study abroad within the framework of academic mobility (semester studies) in universities in Belgium, Austria and Poland.
