DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL PEDAGOGY AND PRESCHOOL EDUCATION

The Department of General Pedagogy and Preschool Education is a basic structural division of Ivan Franko Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University. As part of its professional functioning, the department carries out educational, scientific, research, educational, methodical, organizational and public activities to ensure all educational programs.

The teaching staff of the department: 20 teachers, including 7 doctors of science, professors; 12 candidates of sciences; associate professors; 1 – teacher.

After the restoration of the teachers’ institute in Drohobych, the department of pedagogy, which was established in 1940, actively joined the work on effective teacher training.

During the entire period of the university’s existence, the department of pedagogy was and remains an integral part of the institution.

In different historical periods, the department was headed by: I.M. Rudchenko, V.V. Lityanskyi, P.A. Lyashenko, M.O. Sazonov, B.N. Mityurov, N.M. Pavlenko, I.V. Komanovsky, V.M. Rozdobudko, M.V. Savchyn, O.M. Kobriy, O.I. Vishnevskyi, M.M.Chepil, T.I. Pantyuk

Today, the department is a powerful part of the university, an important educational and scientific unit that conducts work on significant scientific research; produces important and necessary pedagogical scientific literature; actively participates in broad education; participates in retraining and upgrading the qualifications of teachers; conducts training of bachelors, masters and doctors of philosophy; organizes conferences and educational forums of various levels on an all-Ukrainian and international scale; determines the strategy and tactics of teacher training for educational institutions of various levels; conducts large-scale educational work; actively participates in the processes of studying international experience and exchange of teachers and students within the framework of various international programs, etc.
