The most significant and valuable expression of solidarity with Ukraine is the continuation and deepening of cooperation with our Polish partners in the conditions of war with the russian aggressor. Another evidence of this was the participation of Polish and German scientists, writers, artists and socio-cultural activists in the international project Second Autumn, which took place on November 19–20, 2025 marking the anniversary of the death of Bruno Schulz. Among the special guests of the event were Professor Katarzyna Kuczynska-Kosany and Dean of the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology, Professor Krzysztof Skibski both representing Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań.
Katarzyna Kuczynska-Kosany is a well-known literary critic, poet, and essayist. The contribution of Professor Kuczynska-Kosany to the development of cooperation between the scientific and academic communities of the universities in Poznań and Drohobych is difficult to overestimate. The literary scholar has been fruitfully collaborating with the Polish Research and Information Centre and the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology for over thirteen years: her first visit to our university was in 2012.
Katarzyna Kuczynska-Kosany stepped forward with an idea to specify the areas of cooperation between Drohobych University and the Adam Mickiewicz University of Poznań. During the meeting involving Dean of the Faculty of Polish and Classical Philology, Professor Krzysztof Skibski, Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology, Professor Petro Matskiv, the Head of the International Relations Department, Khrystyna Voitovych, and the Head of the Polish Research and Information Centre Vira Mięk, a substantive conversation took place on the ways and prospects of developing cooperation between both universities. An agreement between our universities on joint research and educational projects is expected to be signed soon.
