University teachers took a course in Polish language and culture in Siedlce

Associate Professor at the Department of English Language and Teaching Methods Halyna Prystay and Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Literature and Polish Studies Natalia Lazirko took part in the in-person course in Polish language and culture “Get to Know Poland Better”, which took place from June 22 to July 5 at the University of Siedlce (Republic of Poland). The program was implemented with the financial support of the National Agency for Academic Exchanges of Poland (NAWA).

The two-week course combined intensive study of the Polish language with an in-depth acquaintance with the history, culture and traditions of Poland. The program included 30 hours of practical classes in the Polish language, as well as lectures, master classes, integration activities and cultural and educational events.

The training took place in a modern educational environment. Participants improved their language skills working in international groups according to their level of Polish language proficiency with the opportunity to communicate with teachers and colleagues from different countries.

A rich cultural program provided an opportunity to better understand Polish history and culture. Participants visited Siedlce museums, participated in culture and integration events, watched Polish films, and also made a two-day study trip to Vilnius following the paths of Adam Mickiewicz.

The international format of the course, which brought together representatives from 23 countries around the world, was especially valuable. Working in a multicultural environment contributed to intercultural dialogue, professional exchange of experience, and the establishment of new academic contacts.

The participation of teachers from Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University in the international program is an important step in the development of professional competencies, deepening international cooperation, and implementing new educational initiatives.
