On September 26, 2026, an All-Ukrainian scientific and methodological seminar on futsal took place in Kyiv; the event is traditionally organized by the Futsal Association of Ukraine with the support of the Ukrainian Association of Football. More than forty participants from all regions of Ukraine gathered in the modern conference hall of the capital’s House of Football. Among them were university lecturers, students, school teachers, sports school administrators, youth coaches, regional federation officials, and professionals serving as match officials for the First League championship and the Ukrainian Futsal Cup.
One of the keynote speakers was Roman Prots, Associate Professor at the Department of Theory and Methodology of Physical Education and Sports at Drohobych State Pedagogical University. He serves as Deputy Chairman of the Futsal Association of Ukraine’s Referees Committee and is one of the organization’s leading FIFA-certified specialists. In addition to lectures and training based on traditional methodological approaches, Roman Prots and his fellow certified instructors organized a roundtable with a lively discussion regarding current trends and the needs of the futsal community.
The practical component and physical fitness testing for match officials involved in national competitions were held at the sports complex of the National University of Physical Education and Sport of Ukraine. Students from the Faculty of Human Health and Natural Sciences at Drohobych State Pedagogical University—Vladyslav Kos and Maksym Orliak, both members of the “Modern Referee” academic club—excelled during the tests successfully meeting all required standards.
