On June 16, Marek Radziwon, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv, met with representatives of Drohobych Ivan Franko Drohobych State Pedagogical University. The meeting was attended by Acting Rector Mykola Pantiuk, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Ihor Hrynyk, Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology Petro Matskiv as well as Professor of the Institute of Polish Philology of the Krakow Pedagogical University Pavel Prukhniak and Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Literature and Polish Studies at Drohobych University, Director of the Bruno Schulz International Festival, Vira Meniok. During the meeting, the issues of cooperation between the university and Polish partners were discussed.
As we know, Drohobych State Pedagogical University has about 50 international cooperation agreements with Polish higher education institutions and organizations. The university’s cooperation with Polish partners is marked by productivity and efficiency, as scientific, cultural and educational projects are implemented on the annual basis including joint research and scientific events with university students participating in academic exchange and internship programs.
During the meeting, Mr. Marek Radziwon noted the importance of developing and expanding Polish-Ukrainian cooperation, expressed readiness to support it and provide all kinds of assistance, and Acting Rector Mykola Pantiuk thanked the Poles for their friendship and support of Ukrainians in these difficult times.
It is worth noting that Drohobych University became the first higher education institution to receive a working visit from the newly appointed Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv.
For reference: On May 20, 2025, Vladislav Kanevskyi, Director of the Consular Service Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, presented the exequatur to Marek Radziwon, the new Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv. Marek Radziwon is a renowned expert in cultural diplomacy, a respected publicist, and a long-standing advocate of freedom of speech and European democratic values. As Consul General, Mr. Radziwon plans to focus on developing humanitarian and cultural projects, expanding partnerships between Ukrainian and Polish communities, and promoting Ukraine’s European integration aspirations.
