The project was carried out in accordance with the partnership agreement between Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University and Collegium Witelona Uczelnia Państwowa (Legnica, RP) financed by the Polish-Ukrainian Youth Exchange Council and the Ministry of Education and Science of the RP.

The main goal of the project was to demonstrate the potential of Poland’s cultural heritage and introduce the tourist sites of the Witelon Region so that its participants understand their status and importance for the local community as well as their significance in the international aspect.

From July 4 to 13, 2022 16 students from Drohobych University (faculties of History, Philology, Elementary and Art Education, Psychology, Pedagogy and Social Work) and 16 students from various faculties of Collegium Witelona Uczelnia Państwowa. The project coordinators were Dr. Beata Skwarek (Republic of Poland) and Associate Professor Iryna Lozynska (Ukraine).

The project location was in the city of Legnica, Legnica County and Wroclaw. For ten days, the students had the opportunity to travel, learn a lot of interesting things about the Collegium of Witelon, get acquainted with the history and culture of the city and the region, visit churches, museums in the city of Legnica, the Regional Museum in Chojnov, the Museum of the Battle of Legnica in Legnica Field, the Ratslavitska Panorama in Wrocław, etc., multimedia fountains in Legnica and Wrocław, travel “the path of extinct volcanoes”. Another feature was getting acquainted with the local administartion and the community, taking part in various master classes, talking with children from local preschools, organizing games for kids in the orphanage, painting children’s faces, blowing bubbles, etc. Especially touching was the trip to the nursing home where the students organized games, walks, and song contests for its elderly residents.

The project participants had the opportunity to share their impressions while relaxing by the lake in Kunitsy and walking along the Odra River.

They also had tours of several businesses including visits to “Huta Miedzi w Legnicy” and “Legnicka Specjalna Strefa Ekonomiczna”. By the way, the head of the LSSE Mr. Bozek offered the students of our university (T. Nosylevska, H. Lesiv, S. Martsyniuk) to have internship at the LSSE Lviv branch.

Each day was summed up with an active discussion with evaluation of the results of each stage of the project and general impressions.

And finally, each student drew a postcard showing acquired experience and own impressions. Long may it continue!
