On September 24, 2020, a regular working meeting of the participants of the Erasmus + KA2 project “UKROTHE” STUDY PROGRAM OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY IN UKRAINE took place. It should be reminded that the project is implemented within the framework of an international program aimed at lifelong learning and support of European policy in the field of education, training, youth and sports.

Project partners from Ukraine and Europe met in the usual online format using the Microsoft Teams platform. The team of Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University was represented by the national project coordinator Lidia Romanyk and members of the working group Natalia Zakalyak, Nina Hrybok, Yuriy Rogalya. Oleg Bazylchuk and Natalia Volieva from Khmelnytsky National University were present. The team of the Prydniprovsk State Academy of Physical Culture and Sports was represented by Serhiy Rokutov and Oleksandra Afanasyeva. Participants of the working meeting were also Rehabilitation Center “Modrychi” in the person of Oleg Masny and Charitable Foundation “Caritas” in the person of Halyna Yadzhak. Project partners from Europe: European Coordinator Sharon Schillewaert (VIVES University of Applied Sciences, Belgium), Anne-Marie Denolf (VIVES University College, Bruges, Belgium), Joaquim Faias (Professor at Porto Polytechnic Institute, Portugal), Ivan van Hulle (NGO Oradea, Belgium), Luc Vercruysse (NGO Tapas, Spain). Other invited guests to the meeting: Igor Rozlutsky, director of the library of Drohobych University; Olga Mangusheva, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Society of Occupational Therapists; Volodymyr Golyk, Associate Professor of the Department of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine and Sports Medicine at the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education.

At the meeting, the Ukrainian partners reported on the launch of the training networks finally created some days before, discussed the topics of the next meetings and agreed on their schedule. The problem of translation of the textbook “Fundamentals of Occupational Therapy” (6th edition by Edward Duncan) into Ukrainian was considered. We decided to work towards finding a Ukrainian publishing house, or to agree on alternative options: translation of occupational therapy courses prepared by VIVES and PPorto teachers.

The participants of the meeting together with the invited guests once again discussed the prospects of training bachelors in occupational therapy and physical therapy for certain educational programs in the Free Economic Zone of Ukraine.

Anne-Marie Denolf and Joaquim Faias have prepared topics for trainings, which will be attended by representatives of Ukrainian fproject partners. The first online training will begin in November this year. All participants in the training will receive certificates with the appropriate number of credits based on successful learning outcomes.

The moderator of the meeting and the project coordinator Sharon Schillewaert acquainted all the partners with the communication plan she had developed, it provides a strategy and an overview of the planned activities for the dissemination and realization in frames of the project. Sharon Schillewaert paid special attention to the issue of informing the public about the activities and results of the project and suggested a schedule for participants to submit publications to the project official website www.ukrothe.eu

The next meeting in the framework of the Erasmus + KA2 project “UKROTHE” is scheduled for October 29, 2020.
