On 17 – 23 May 2017 as a part of a cooperation agreement between Ivan Franko Pedagogical University in Drohobych, University College Vives, Belgium, and NGO “Oradea”, Belgium the Department of Social Studies and Humanities conducted training of students of both educational institution dedicated to the prevention of addictive behavior among children and youth.
During the week, the students discussed the problems of alcohol and drug addiction, studied the experience of Ukraine and Belgium on social prevention of addictions, visited Drohobych social institutions which carry out practical work to combat this negative phenomenon (CF “Caritas”, Rehabilitation Center “Nazareth”, centers of social services for families, children and youth in Drohobych and Sambir), spoke to social teachers of secondary schools.
On May 23 the students presented the results of the joint work of teachers and students from both countries, and proposed the ways to improve the practical work on the prevention of addictive behavior among minors.
Throughout the period the group of students of Department of Social Studies and Humanities attended a course lectures and workshops in “Creativity and Arts” (24 hours in class) conducted by a Vives University College lecturer Bert D’harte and Assoc. Prof. of social pedagogy and remedial education Oksana Keryk. The student received relevant certificates.
Certificate of studies in Belgium under Erasmus + Program were presented by the Head of Department of Social Work, University College Vives, Wouter Leple to students of the speciality “Social pedagogy” Marta Ohar, Maryana Moskal, Liliya Khlon and Anna Khanas.
