Professor Rovshan Khalilov visited Drohobych University

On August 10, 2021, a regular meeting of Professor Rovshan Khalilov, doctor honoric  causa of Drohobych  State Pedagogical University named after Ivan Franko, Head of the Department of Biophysics and Biochemistry of Baku State University, with Acting Rector of the University , Professor Mykola Lukyanchenko. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the results of the joint Ukrainian- Azerbaijani international scientific and educational center of nanobiotechnology and functional nanosystems, headed by Associate Professor Taras Kavetsky (Ukraine) and Professor Rovshan Khalilov ( Azerbaijan), and prospects for further cooperation.The meeting was also attended by Dean of the Faculty of Biology asnd Natural Sciences, Associate Professor Svitlana Voloshanska and Associate Professor Taras Kavetsky.

Professor Khalilov informed about the achievements of the center for the academic years 2019/2020 and 2020/2021, noting the publication of a number of scientific papers on behalf of the center and within international cooperation in journals with a high impact factor, including 3 articles in the most prestigious medical journal The Lancet: The Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology (2020 Impact Factor: 14.789), The Lancet Global Health (2020 Impact Factor: 21.597), The Lancet Oncology (accepted for publication, 2021 Impact Factor: 41.316) and 1 article in the journal Nanomedicine (2020 Impact Factor: 5.307), which is devoted to the problems of the Covid -19 pandemic, and many other scientific publications with a total impact for for 2020 – 2021: 146.138.

Professor Khalilov also informed that in 2020-2021 the joint Ukrainian –Azerbaijani international scientific and educational center of nanobiotechnologies and functional nanosystems is a co-organizer of 2 international conferences, namely: 3ʳᵈ Nanomedicine & Nanosafety Conference (NMNS 2020), Tehran University of Medical Sciences , 25 – 26 January 2020, Tehran, Iran) and 10th International Conferenceon “Scientific Advances and Challengesin Biology” (SACB), 6 – 7 May 2021, Baku, Azerbaijan).

The participants of the meeting discussed the  prospects of cooperation for the next period 2021 – 2023, where the main efforts will be focused on continuing the joint research, publishing results in scientific journals with a high impact factor, conducting scientific seminars, forming grant projects and more.

            Finally, Acting Rector Professor Mykola Lukyanchenko noted the high scientific level of the work, the importance of developing international cooperation with partners of the center and also proposed to develop cooperation in the exchange of teachers and students of both universities of Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
