International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Primary Education: Issues, Theory and Practice”

On 28-29 September 2017 the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Primary Education: Issues, Theory and Practice” took place at the Department of Primary Education and Arts. It was organized jointly by the faculty of the Department of Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education of Ivan Franko Pedagogical University in Dr5ohobych and the department of preschool education and technologies of Baranovichi State University, Belarus.

The Dean of the Department of Primary Education and Arts Assoc. Prof. Ivan Kutniak greeted the conference attendants. The gala opening was introduced by the Rector Prof. Nadia Skotna and the University Chaplain Father Oleh Kekosh. The conference participants were introduced by the deputy dean, scientific and international activities, Assoc. Prof. Halyna Fil.

The scientific reports were presented at the plenary meeting by: professor of psychology of Ivan Franko National University in Lviv Olena Kvas, Prof. Tetiana Pantiuk, Prof. Maria Fedurko, representative pof the Department of Education of Drohobych City Council Olesia Sysyn, Assoc. Prof. of pedagogy and methods of primary education Lilia Stakhiv, senior teacher of Maliuk School in Lviv and a coach of the National Fund “Step by Step” Olha Rozputnia, director of Primary School No. 11 in Stryi Serhiy Zapisov, the junior forms teacher of Secondary School No. 2 in Drohobych Olha Chaikivska, senior lecturer Lesia Luzhetska.

Modernization of the primary education and implementation of the health preserving technologies into the educational process were the topics of the reports of Liudmyla Yaschenko and Nila Makariychuk, respectively the director and headmaster of Secondary School No. 14 in Pryluky, Chernihiv Region.

The organization and methodology of health preserving activities of junior schoolchildren were demonstrated at the workshop by Assoc. Professors of the Department of Elementary Education of Borys Hrinchenko University in Kyiv Olena Vashchenko and Liudmyla Romanenko (with the participation of third-year students of the Department of Primary Education and Arts).

Teachers of Secondary School No. 4 in Drohobych Lesia Hyziuk, Svitlana Samoilyk, Nelia Liutyk presented the forms and methods of the educational process at the elementary school under the program “Intellect of Ukraine” and conducted a workshop with the conference participants.
