Implementation of the International project “NCD (non-communicable diseases), prevention and health promotion in Ukraine”

4th-year students of biological faculty Lydia Bilinska, Uliana Galaiko and Vasylyna Yaroshovych led by Iryna Bryukhovetska, PhD, assistant professor of biology and chemistry having a conversation in School No. 5 in Boryslav. They discussed the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and drug addiction.

4th-year students of biological faculty Lydia Bilinska, Uliana Galaiko and Vasylyna Yaroshovych led by Iryna Bryukhovetska, PhD, assistant professor of biology and chemistry having a conversation in School No. 5 in Boryslav. They discussed the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and drug addiction.

On April 7, 2016, celebrating the World Health Day and within the framework of the project “NCD (non-communicable diseases), prevention and health promotion in Ukraine“, the teachers and students of biological faculty organized events in the schools of Drohobych and Borislav aimed at combating major risk factors for noncommunicable diseases (smoking, alcohol abuse, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity).

Oksana Lupak, a lecturer of the Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Valeology informed the students of Polytechnic Professional Lyceum in Drohobych about prevention of noncommunicable diseases. Students were explained such concepts as “deviant behavior of adolescents”, “addiction and its signs,” “alcohol dependence”, “healthy lifestyle”.

4th-year students of Biological Faculty Olha Voitko and Iryna Reshetova led by Grygory Kossak, Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Biology and Chemistry delivered a lecture senior students of School No. 4 in Drohobych. Later, the students answered the questions, summarized the information about the harmful effects of drugs on human life and development, received educational materials.
