On January 19 – 21, 2018, university and its Department of Law, Sociology and Political Science was visited by a well-known urban sociologist, Professor of the Institute of Sociology and Social Sciences of the University of Meiji Gakuin (Tokyo, Japan), Shinji Iwanaga, who is also a guest professor at the Sorbonne and Hamburg University. Professor Ivanaga met with Rector Professor Nadia Skotna and Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Associate Professor Yuri Vovk, and discussed possible areas of cooperation, in particular, the research and opportunities for student exchange.
During the meeting of the Japanese sociologist with the faculty of the Department of Law, Sociology and Political Science, issues of joint scientific sociological interests for the establishment of cooperation were discussed. Professor Shinji Iwanaga got acquainted with the university and met some of the faculty (Svitlana Schudlo, Iryna Mirchuk, Taras Kavetsky, Lidia Romanyk, Natalia Kantor), as well as got acquainted with the historical and cultural monuments of Drohobych and Truskavets and with our national Christmas traditions.
