On April 24 – 29, 2018, our University was visited by a Chinese delegation from Wuhan University of Technology (Wuhan, China), consisting of three persons: the project leader on the Chinese part, Dr. Jian Ruan, Professor Haizheng Tao and Professor Xiujian Zhao. The purpose of the visit was: research within the joint Ukrainian-Chinese research project “Novel metal nanoparticle and metal nanowire containing glassy chalcohalide and oxide materials for non-linear optics and photonics” (Implementation period 2017 – 2018), funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China within the framework of international scientific and technical cooperation.
During the visit, our Chinese colleagues had a meeting with the university leadership – rector Professor Nadia Skotna, Vice-Rector for Science Professor Mykola Pantiuk, Vice-Rector for Science and Education, Associate Professor Yuri Vovk, Dean of the Department of Biology and Natural Sciences, Associate Professor Svitlana Voloshanska, Head of the Research, Lesya Perkhun, and also with the project leader on the Ukrainian part, Associate Professor Taras Kavetskyy.
In addition to implementing the above research project, the advantages and prospects of international cooperation on academic mobility of students, teachers and scientists were also discussed. Prof. Xiujian Zhao presented the students of the Department of Biology and Natural Sciences with the scientific achievements of the State Key Laboratory of Silicate Materials for Architectures of the Wuhan University of Technology and the opportunities of attracting the talented youth of our university to joint research and development.
The results of the author’s joint research were summarized at the scientific workshop with the participation of the project executors, who also outlined the plans for further cooperation.
