On May 29, 2020 the next working meeting of the Erasmus + KA2 “UKROTHE” project team was held in a form of video conference using the Microsoft Teams platform.
Among the participants of the meeting there were representatives of the “UKROTHE” working group representing higher education institutions of Ukraine: Iryna Turchyk, Natalia Zakalyak, Lidia Romanyk, Nina Hrybok, Natalia Ivanikiv, Yuriy Rogalia (Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University), Oleg Bazylchuk and Natalia Volieva (Khmelnytskyy National University) , Serhiy Rokutov and Oleksandra Afanasyeva (Prydniprovsk State Academy of Physical Culture and Sport), as well as European partners: Ivan Van Hulle, Anna-Maria Denolf, Luc Vercrusse, Joaquim Faias.
The moderator of the meeting and coordinator – Sharon Schillewaert (VIVES University of Applied Sciences) organized a seminar for project participants from Ukraine on the creation of educational programs using WFOT standards (World Federation of Occupational Therapists) and quality assurance methods to achieve curriculum recognition in Europe and the world. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Maria Kapanadze – Vice President of ENOTHE (European Network of Occupational Therapy in Higher Education).
The issues of the tuning approach in the development of the educational program, which ensures the transparency of the program, the ability to evaluate and compare it with other programs of the Bologna process recognized in the world. Maria Kapanadze emphasized that when developing the educational program it is necessary to use the provisions of the basic tuning model of the international level (recognizability of EP abroad and its recognition in the world, compliance of credit load with international requirements, adaptation of EP to national requirements of higher education, etc.), monitoring of various educational programs to use the world experience of specialists in this field, to ensure the participation of professional international organizations, to take into account the proposals of stakeholders. Maria Kapanadze also provided information on tuning competencies in occupational therapy and the possibility of access to the electronic version of this document.
The participants of the meeting actively discussed the question of whether the educational program we are creating aims to establish new professional requirements.
We discussed the conditions of membership of our universities – partners of the project “UKROTHE” and separately teachers and students in the organization ENOTHE. The vice-president of ENOTHE noted that the University’ participation in the Erasmus + project of the KA2 level provides an opportunity for the educational institution to apply for membership in ENOTHE. The University’s cooperation with ENOTHE is an opportunity to receive consultations and real help from the European professional community in creating an educational program for bachelors in occupational therapy, which will undoubtedly contribute to the internationalization of the educational process. We hope that our university in the near future will become a member of the great family ENOTHE, which unites 117 universities from 35 countries.
The next meeting in the framework of the Erasmus + KA2 “UKROTHE” project is scheduled for June 5, 2020.
