On September 2-5, 2017, at the invitation of the rector Professor Nadiya Skotna, a delegation of the Witelon Higher Professional School from the partner city of Legnica headed by the rector Professor Ryszard Pisarski paid an official visit to the Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University in Drohobych. The delegation also included Vice-Rector for Science and International Relations Professor Jerzy Pietkiewicz, former Rector of the Witelon Higher Professional School (in 1998 – 2011), honorary doctor of our university Professor Stanislaw Dabrowski, deputy chancellor, head of the Academic Community, Master Jerzy Stefaniak, coordinator of scientific projects of the Higher School Dr. Beata Skwarek.
Representative delegation from Legnica took part in the inauguration events on the occasion of the new 2017/18 academic year and met with the university management. Representatives of the Polish delegation also discussed concrete steps of cooperation with the vice-rector for international relations, Assoc. Prof. Yuri Vovk, dean of the Department of Philology, Prof. Yaroslav Yaremko, dean of the Department of Biology, Assoc. Prof. Svitlana Voloshanska, held working meetings with the heads of the departments of law, sociology and political science, Prof. Svitlana Shchudlo and of practical psychology, Assoc. Prof. Valentyna Stets, the academic secretary of the university, Prof. Tetiana Pantiuk, met with a representative of the Polish Society in the city Ms. Maria Halias and visited the historical and cultural reserve “Nahuyevychi” (Director – Assoc. Prof. Bohdan Lazorak).
Within the framework of the meetings, the subsequent steps in the area of joint implementation of research, scientific and educational projects, exchange of teachers, students and teaching auxiliaries were discussed in detail.
