18 – 19 March 2016 in Berlin, there was a meeting of the European Educational Researchers Association (EERA), attended by Prof. S. Schudlo as the chairperson of the Ukrainian Educational Researchers Association (UERA), established on the basis of Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University, Drohobych, and vice-chairperson Prof. A. Zabolotna (Pavlo Tychyna State Pedagogical University, Uman). The meeting discussed the topical issues of EERA and the national associations, represented in Berlin by their heads from almost thirty European countries.
During the two-day meeting the issues of UERA were discussed three times. The EERA Council heard the report of Ukraine’s representatives about the creation of the national association and its activities and noted the rapid progress in its development. Based on the presented results and a discussion, it was resolved that the status of associate member of EERA passes from Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University, Drohobych as an individual member to the newly established of Ukrainian Educational Researchers Association centered in Drohobych.
The Council also considered and positively assessed the application of DDPU to hold the EERA summer school, but because of the incomplete Ukraine’s membership in international organizations and the unstable situation in the country preferred one of Czech universities, and promised to reconsider the Ukraine’s application later.
I was noted that membership in the International Association enables the participants to receive grants, obtain access to European educational periodical publications, the possibility of publication in prestigious European periodicals, participation in scientific events, facilitates international scientific communication, etc.
