On September 29, 2016 in the auditorium of the main building of the University a ceremonial session of the Academic Council was held dedicated to awarding a diploma of Honorary Doctor Ivan Franko State University Drohobych to a physician, philanthropist, MD Patrick Marcel Bellinck for his great contribution to the development of cooperation between Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University, Drohobych and University College Vives and charity organization “Oradea” and outstanding achievements in the field of social work and organization of international (including the Ukrainian-Romanian-Belgian) scientific and educational projects.
The ceremonial session was opened by the rector, Professor Nadiya Skotna. A word of respect for the nominee was delivered by the Dean of the Department of Biology and Natural Sciences Svitlana Voloshanska and the Dean of the Department of Social Studies and Humanities Ihor Hrynyk.
The words of congratulations for the nominee and reports were delivered by: Taras Kuchma, Mayor of Drohobych, Virli Dekocker, director of University College Vives (Kortrijk, Belgium), Mark Pattin, director of Zevenbergen rehabilitation center (Ranst, Belgium).
A Honorary Doctor of Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University, Drohobych, Patrick Bellinck delivered his report and thanked the Academic Council for the award.
The ceremonial session of the Academic Council was also attended by guests: Ives Vantens, a member of the government of Flanders, Vivine Demester, a former federal secretary for policy in the field of health and disability; former Minister of Finance and Budget, Health, Social Security and Family Policy of Flanders, co-founder and director of social services “Monikenheide” (Zorsel, Belgium), Evelyn Le Roy, coordinator of International Relations, University College Vives, colleagues from “Zevenbergen” (Belgium) and “Crystal” (Romania) rehabilitation centers , as well as the nominee’s wife Ludharde Bellinck, the family and friends of Dr. Patrick Bellinck.
